The quiet and unassuming receptionist of Friedman & Sons, Lucy, works in a law office filled with superficial employees who couldn't care less about her. When the office accountant Becky commits suicide, the office barely seems to notice, which sends Lucy to question her own role and lack of connection in the office. Consumed, she attempts to learn as much about the deceased accountant as she can. Parallels between their lives at the office become increasingly apparent - are they the same person? Fantasy and reality mix together as she tries to find meaning and escape from the mundanity of office life.
